Mary's inspiration to teach is directly affected by her own desire to learn!

"I get great inspiration from my students, and helping them to figure out the answer. It motivates me to continue my own education, and to keep current with new technologies".

Mary White has been an instructor at JCCC for 4 years, both in Continuing Education and in credit degree-seeking courses. She teaches courses in the Web Design certificate, and the Graphic Design certificates such as Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop, as well as various Microsoft Office courses. She has been building websites since 2006, and is very involved in the WordPress community in the greater Kansas City area. Recently, she presented at Word Camp, held on April 13, 2018.

Mary's favorite course to teach is WordPress. "WordPress does have a learning curve, but it really makes it easier for people to create websites once they've learned how much they can do with code and applications of the program."

In addition to her own website design business — MW for Designs — Mary enjoys taking classes such as 3D animation and game design. She owns three dogs, and frequently fosters more puppies through a local shelter. She enjoys painting and drawing, and though you'll likely still find her sharing her knowledge through courses at JCCC, she might end up being a full-time artist one day!
