Refund for Workforce Development & Continuing Education Courses
(JCCC Tuition Refund Policy 312.01)
If a student who is registered for a Workforce Development & Continuing Education course requests a refund by phone or email AND the request is received in the JCCC Workforce Development & Continuing Education Office at least four (4) business days before the course begins, the student will receive a 100% refund. For purposes of this Policy, “business day” is defined as a day of the week from Monday through Friday, excluding days the College is officially closed.
If a Workforce Development & Continuing Education course is canceled or dates/times of a course are changed by the College, a 100% refund of tuition and fees pertaining to that course will be made to the student.
Students who are directed to report for active military duty during an academic term shall be entitled to a full refund of tuition and fees. All refunds may be contingent upon presentation of official documentation. Students who volunteer for military services are subject to the provisions of this Policy.
Tuition Refund Appeals for Continuing Education
(JCCC Tuition Refund Appeal Operating Procedure 312.02)
Tuition Refund Appeals related to Workforce Development & Continuing Education shall be submitted on the Continuing Education Refund and Transfer Appeal Form to the Director of Programming for Continuing Education for administrative consideration on a case-by-case basis.
The appeal must specify the reason(s) the student should be given a refund and include sufficient supporting documentation. The written appeal and documentation will be reviewed by the Director of Programming for Continuing Education to determine if the student has demonstrated sufficient circumstances warranting a refund. The decision of the Director of Programming for Workforce Development & Continuing Education is final and the student will be informed in writing of the decision.
