Unleash Your Potential

Build confidence, improve your grades and learn how to study with help from the College Success Department. You'll find three different strategies for success, all catered to meet your specific needs.

College Success is a JCCC department that offers a diverse range of courses designed to help you tackle and succeed in college.

We offer FREE workshops and elective credit classes, all designed to build academic mastery, study skills, and strategies to help you succeed in your college career and beyond.

More than 50% of students feel academically unprepared for college.

Beyond adjusting to a new campus, academic system, and expectations, many students experience stress, confusion, and academic overwhelm during the transition to higher education.

College Success classes support that transition, helping you build the skills, confidence, and strategies you need to succeed in college.

College Success (COLL) classes help you:

  • Strengthen core academic skills that support success in English, Math, and other college-level courses
  • Build a strong foundation for college learning across all programs, pathways, and transfer goals
  • Develop effective study, testing, and memory strategies to equip you for college-level learning
  • Improve time management, organization, and planning skills
  • Gain practical career skills that help with goal setting and job readiness
  • Reduce stress and build confidence so you feel prepared for college
  • Maintain or improve academic performance
  • Stay on track to graduate or transfer successfully.
