Volunteer Opportunities
There are a variety of volunteer opportunities available, whether working directly with students or helping various campus departments, contributing throughout the year or assisting with single day special projects and events.
To become a volunteer, complete the application. Your submission will be sent to the appropriate department(s) for review and consideration. Prior to volunteering at JCCC, all volunteer applicants are required to undergo a thorough background check.
Athletics Department
- Assist coaches and help out at sporting events.
Center for Sustainability
- Assist with a variety of earth-friendly projects and events.
CLEAR Program
- Support staff and instructors in continuing education classes for adults with mild developmental/cognitive disabilities.
Greenhouse
- Help with the Spring plant sale and maintain plants in and around the greenhouse.
Johnson County Adult Education
- Help adult students improve reading, writing and math skills; prepare for the GED high school equivalency test; or learn English as a non-native speaker.
Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art
- Volunteer with the museum docent program, as a visitor service assistant or as a children’s class assistant.
Midwest Trust Center Series
- Become an event usher — a Vol*Star — in the performing arts spaces located in the Midwest Trust Center.
Special Projects and Events
- Volunteer on an as-needed basis, assisting with various duties and events throughout the campus.
Veteran & Military Student Resource Center
- Volunteer with the JCCC Community Veteran Engagement Team (CVET) to become a community mentor for veteran and military-affiliated students.
