Academic Concern serves as a reminder of potential consequences if you do not raise your GPA. If your JCCC cumulative GPA is lower than 2.0 and you have completed fewer than 12 cumulative credit hours, you may be at risk of falling out of academic good standing. Now is the time to connect with resources and make some changes.
What to expect: Rebekah Godke will connect with you to discuss strategies for raising your GPA and continuing in academic good standing.

My role is to help students who may be facing academic challenges. I can help connect students to resources across campus. Working at JCCC means I get to meet and work with students from diverse backgrounds and with unique perspectives. I enjoy getting to know students individually and connecting with the best resources for them. I was a student here at JCCC, so I understand what it’s like to be a JCCC student.

Academic Probation serves as a warning that you need to improve your GPA to continue pursuing your academic goals and avoid Academic Suspension. You are still able to take classes at JCCC while on probation; use this semester to get your GPA back on the right track.
What to expect: You will make a Comeback Plan with a Counselor ahead of the semester and you are required to complete the three components of the plan in the semester in which you are on Academic Probation. Alyssa Slana-Neuenswander is your contact for this program. She will be reaching out to you throughout the semester and updating a Canvas page with more information about your Comeback Plan.

Academic Suspension serves as a notice that the College is seriously concerned about your JCCC cumulative GPA and how that can impact your academic future.
There are two options you could consider if you wanted to continue enrollment while on suspension:
- Success Opportunity Semester (SOS) Option
- Academic Suspension Appeal
What to Expect: If this is your first time on suspension, you must sit out one major semester (Fall or Spring). However, there are two options you could consider if you wanted to continue enrollment while on suspension
If you are approved through one of these options, you will be allowed to enroll at JCCC without having to sit out your suspension period. For more information about Academic Suspension, especially if you have been placed on a one-year Academic Suspension, visit this Guide to Academic Standing for more information.
For questions about your action plan and connection to resources while on Academic Suspension, contact Kaitlin Krumsick.
