Applicability: This Policy applies to all Johnson County Community College (“JCCC” or the “College”) personnel.
Purpose: The purpose of this Policy is to set out JCCC’s commitment to maintaining individuals’ privacy rights.
Statement:
The Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLB), the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and other applicable federal and state laws require the College to protect the privacy of certain financial records, educational records, and personal customer information. It is the intent of the College to comply with all applicable provisions of these laws.
College personnel shall abide by and follow all College policies, operating procedures, and workplace rules regarding the safeguarding of such information and shall take all necessary and required measures to otherwise protect private information created, collected, maintained, transmitted, or stored by or for the College.
Individuals who believe their privacy rights have been violated may file a complaint with a director over Human Resources or through the JCCC Ethics Report Line.
