How to take an online class

All recruitment activities, including group and individual tours, are cancelled through at least the end of May. Admissions will continue to process applications for admission and incoming high school and college transcripts. Email Admissions with any questions. Financial aid disbursements are occurring as scheduled - see Financial Aid Refund Dates

Financial Aid is available by phone at 913-469-3840 during their regular office hours or you may email the Financial Aid Office with questions.

  • For assistance with payment or refunds during the closure, please email the Bursar Office at bursar@jccc.edu.
  • For details about dropping a class and filing a tuition refund appeal, see the Tuition and Fee Refunds page.

For assistance with records and registration during the closure, email the Registrar's Office.

You may contact Testing Services by email Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the closure.

Resource Centers & Tutoring

The Academic Achievement Center will be closed from March 13 at 4 p.m. through May.

Reading Specialist

Reading instruction and assistance is open to any student enrolled in classes at JCCC.

No appointment necessary. For more information email readingspecialist@jccc.edu.

Online tutoring is through ZOOM during all regulary scheduled ours.

The Reading Specialist can help you with:

  • Using Critical Thinking Skills while Reading
  • Interpreting Graphic Materials such as Diagrams, Tables, and Maps

The Language Resource Center is closed from March 13 at 4 p.m. through May.

Beginning March 23, the LRC is available for online access.

The Math Resource Center will be closed March 16 - March 22. We will reopen for online services Monday, March 23. View the Math Resource Center page for online service access and schedule.

The SRC will offer online tutoring from March 23 through May.

The Writing Center is offering online tutoring during the campus closure. Visit the Online Writing Lab to make an appointment.

Student Resources

The Billington Library is available offering a variety of services during the campus closure.

The bookstore will be closed starting March 14 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Bookstore website​ will remain operational during this time. Since there are short-term classes starting soon, we have adopted an eBook option whenever possible.

If an eBook is not available, ​you can still order course materials via the website. ​Although there may be some delays, all orders placed by March 25 will ship before the first days of class.

The Career Development Center is offering its services virtually. To receive assistance with career & major exploration, job search assistance and presentations online, please email us at careerdevelopment@jccc.edu.

While JCCC Student Clubs and organizations have canceled all in-person events on and off campus, many clubs are still meeting virtually and hosing online events.

Counseling is offering their services virtually through a Zoom appointment or by phone. Face-to-face appointments are NOT currently available. To schedule a meeting with a counselor, email advise@jccc.edu and include your phone number and student ID number.

Appointments can be made during the following business hours:

Mondays-Wednesdays: 8 a.m.-6 p.m.
Thursdays: 10 a.m.-6 p.m.
Fridays: 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

Free broadband/wifi offer for students from Charter Communications

Charter Communications is offering free broadband and WiFi for 60 days for college students.

As the country works collaboratively to contain this pandemic, broadband internet access will be increasingly essential to ensure people across the country are able to learn and work remotely. Check out the Charter Communications website for more information about the offer.
