FAFSA Priority Deadline
March 15 is the priority deadline to complete your FAFSA for JCCC.
The Financial Aid Office begins awarding for the new aid year in late spring. Completing the FAFSA by the priority deadline will give you a better chance to receive the maximum amount of aid for which you are eligible.
You can still apply after the March 15 priority deadline and receive financial aid, but you may need to pay your tuition and fees yourself to hold your classes until you're awarded your financial aid.
Financial aid is awarded by academic year, starting in the fall semester. Students must re-apply by filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the next aid year in order to receive funds for the following fall and spring semesters.
Beginning January 1 of each spring semester, you can apply for JCCC general scholarships and federal aid (FAFSA).
If you get financial aid for the fall and spring, August through May, you can't get financial aid for the summer session unless you have funds remaining from your aid-year award.
For more information, call the Financial Aid Office at 913-469-3840 in early spring to review your options.
