JCCC Volunteer Opportunities
You can make a difference by donating your time and talent as a volunteer for Johnson County Community College.
There are a variety of volunteer opportunities available, whether working directly with students or helping various campus departments, contributing throughout the year or assisting with single day special projects and events.
The following list highlights many of our ongoing volunteer opportunities. We will forward your application to the appropriate department(s) for review and consideration.
Assist coaches and help out at sporting events.
Support staff and instructors in continuing education classes for adults with mild developmental/cognitive disabilities.
Practice speaking English with students who attend the English for Academic Purposes (EAP) courses at JCCC.
Fashion Merchandising and Design
Assist with the fashion events at the college.
Help with the Spring plant sale and maintaining plants in and around the greenhouse.
Johnson County Adult Education
Help adult students improve reading, writing and math skills; prepare for the GED high school equivalency test; or learn English as a non-native speaker.
Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art
Volunteer with the museum docent program, as a visitor service assistant or as a children’s class assistant.
Performing Arts Series
Become an event usher, a Vol*Star, in the performing arts spaces located in the Carlsen Center.
Center for Sustainability
Assist with a variety of earth-friendly projects and events.
Special Projects and Events
Volunteer on an as-needed basis, assisting with various duties and events throughout the campus.
