PAVE End-of-Year Celebration and Cording Ceremony

Veteran and military-affiliated students are invited to celebrate the accomplishments of JCCC’s veteran graduates and leaders on Friday, May 24, from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Capitol Federal Conference Center in the Regnier Center.

Enjoy lunch on us and take this opportunity to bid farewell, say thanks and explore leadership opportunities for the coming year. 2019 graduates also will ceremoniously receive their honor cords.

Talk to your counselor about enrolling in College Success Strategies (COLL 200), a class designed specifically to help you transition into college alongside fellow vets.

You’ll take away:

  • Effective studying techniques
  • Methods to navigate college stressors
  • Ways to use valuable campus and community resources

The class meets on Mondays and Wednesdays from noon to 1:15 p.m. in LIB 303 for the Fall 2019 semester, which runs Aug. 19-Dec. 15.

JCCC stands ready to serve vets

Thank you for your service to our country. We are delighted you have chosen JCCC to further your education.

JCCC is designated through the Department of Veterans Affairs as a Principles of Excellence participant and by the U.S. Department of Education as an Eight Keys to Veterans’ Success Site.

JCCC is committed to providing an environment for veterans to pursue their academic and personal goals, explore learning experiences and be involved on campus. The VMSRC mission is to empower veterans, military service members and their dependents to succeed in their educational and vocational goals by assisting them through the transition from military to civilian life.

All students with military experience — past or present — and military dependents are welcome to visit the Veteran and Military Student Resource Center to ask questions, find resources or to just unwind between classes. JCCC’s knowledgeable staff is ready to answer questions and connect students with resources. The lounge area provides a place to study or hang out with other students.

GI Bill Enrollment and Certification
To use your VA education benefits, you must enroll in classes at JCCC and then be certified by the JCCC Veteran Services office.

Pre-enrollment for Veteran and Military students
In honor of your service to our country, JCCC grants pre-enrollment privileges to veteran and military students. You can access pre-enrollment by going to the Success Center and presenting your military or VA ID.
