Welcome to Johnson County Community College! Follow these steps to get your student account fully set up and secure.
Step 1: Log In to Your Account
Logging into your JCCC student Microsoft account allows you to access your MyJCCC accounts and reset your password anytime. Some students already have a personal Microsoft account. Please note: your JCCC student Microsoft account is a separate account and will use a different username and password from your personal Microsoft account.
You’ll need:
- Username (JCCC email address found in your acceptance email)
- Temporary password (found in your acceptance email)
Steps:
- Go to: https://mysignins.microsoft.com/security-info
- At the Microsoft Sign In page, enter your JCCC email (e.g., username@stumail.jccc.edu).
- Select Next.
- Enter your temporary password from your acceptance letter.
- Select Sign in.
Step 2: Set Up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)
To protect your account, JCCC requires multifactor authentication (MFA) to access certain applications.
When you see the prompt “Let’s keep your account secure,” follow these steps:
- Click Next.
- Select “I want to set up a different method” (bottom left).
- Choose Phone from the dropdown.
- Enter your phone number, including area code. If outside the U.S., select the correct country.
- Important:Choose a phone number that you will have with you regularly. You’ll need it to receive authentication codes when logging in to your JCCC accounts.
- Choose “receive a code” and click Next.
- Enter the code sent to your phone.
- Click Next, then Done.
- When asked if you want to stay signed in:
- Choose Yes on a personal device.
- Choose No on a public/shared device.
- After logging in to your account, select Change Password to change your temporary password to one that’s secure and easy to remember.
- Password must not contain the user’s name or username, must have 10 characters, and have at least three of the following:
- Uppercase letters (A–Z)
- Lowercase letters (a–z)
- Numbers (0–9)
- Symbols (e.g., ! @ # $ % ^ & *)
- Password must not contain the user’s name or username, must have 10 characters, and have at least three of the following:
- Create and confirm your new password.
- Select Submit.
Step 3: Log in to MyJCCC
Log in to MyJCCC to access your student email, register for classes, pay tuition, check your financial aid, and much more.
Step 4: Access Your Student Email
Your student email inbox is located on the JCCC Student Email card in MyJCCC.
- Click “Go to Your Student Email” to view your emails.
- Once you are admitted, JCCC will send email communications to your MyJCCC student email address and will no longer email your personal email account.
- Check your MyJCCC student email often for important information and updates.
