Testing Services provides a number of services to promote student success.
Does everyone need to test for placement into math and writing courses? No. Testing is one of many placement measures. The math, reading, and writing pacement assessments are taken by students who do not meet other placement measures. Please review placement measures to determine if you can place in math courses and English Composition I without testing.
High School students enrolling for dual enrollment courses should refer to the College Now dual degree page.

If English is not your native language, you may need to take the ESL assessment. Review these details or schedule an ESL placement assessment at JCCC Testing Services.
You may be required to take a foreign language placement test if you want to enroll in a foreign language course other than at the Elementary I level. Languages include Chinese, French, German, Japanese and Spanish.

Placement scores are automatically uploaded to your student record within 30 minutes of completing your assessment.
We recommend that you make an appointment with an Academic Counselor to discuss your placement scores or you may enroll in your classes.

If you need to retake a Reading or Writing Placement Assessment, review practice material by clicking on the Learning Locator code links at the bottom of the Accuplacer score report that was emailed to you.
For a copy of your ACCUPLACER placement score report, visit the College Board's ACCUPLACER Student Portal, then select "Your Score Report" on the left.
For a copy of your ALEKS placement score report, log in to your ALEKS account using your JCCC username and password, then click on the three dots within the JCCC Placement square.

If you need to request placement testing outside of our open hours or cannot make it to our testing location, please email us at [email protected]. We may be able to arrange placement testing at another location or virtual testing (fees payable to test site or testing vendor).
There are two testing facilities on campus. Placement tests are administered in the Student Center, Room 334 (SC 334).
