Community Supported Agriculture
There are two local CSA programs to choose from! While each offers a weekly pickup, pricing and items vary between the two. Please see program details and links below to find the program that works best for you and your family.
Rolling Prairie Farmers Alliance
Rolling Prairie is the oldest Midwest vegetable cooperative. There are four different pick up locations, including one right here at JCCC, one in Roeland Park, and another two in Lawrence. The Rolling Prairie program is one of the outlets for produce grown on our own JCCC Campus Farm and this pickup location is run by our own Sustainable Agriculture Certificate students! The start date will be subject to the weather and the harvest, but expectations are aimed at early to mid May.
The Rolling Prairie program is primarily a produce subscription, best for someone interested in a week’s supply of veggies. Past subscribers have enjoyed the seasonality of the boxes and the variety of produce they receive, challenging them occasionally to go looking for recipes for a vegetable they’ve never had before. Rolling Prairie is a great choice for avid and adventurous cooks!

Hen House Markets Growers' Alliance
The Hen House Markets Growers’ Alliance CSA program is also available locally, with pickup locations at any area Hen House Market, including the one right across the street from JCCC’s campus! This program typically runs from mid-June to early October. Registration will be available soon at your local Hen House Market or online at http://henhouse.com/.
The Hen House CSA program offers weekly grocery bags that aim to create a balanced meal for a family of four. In the bag you are likely to receive a protein, a dairy product, a loaf of bread and some fruits and veggies, along with an occasional specialty item.
