The College is excited to have a center dedicated to supporting our military and veteran students, and is committed to providing an environment for veterans to pursue their academic and personal goals, explore learning experiences and be involved on campus.

JCCC is designated through the Department of Veterans Affairs as a Principles of Excellence participant and by the U.S. Department of Education as an Eight Keys to Veterans’ Success Site.

JCCC is committed to providing an environment for veterans to pursue their academic and personal goals, explore learning experiences and be involved on campus. The VMSRC mission is to empower veterans, military service members and their dependents to succeed in their educational and vocational goals by assisting them through the transition from military to civilian life.

Join us for a KCReCon Oct. 12-13, 2018. It's the Student Veterans of America’s (SVA) inaugural Kansas City Regional Conference. It offers conference attendees informative programming, inspirational speakers and networking opportunities at no cost to the respective chapters.

Veterans Week

Veterans Week at JCCC is packed full of events and activities that show appreciation for the service and the sacrifice veterans and their families have given to our country. Events are scheduled Nov. 7-12.

Veterans Week Events


All students with military experience — past or present — and military dependents are welcome to visit the Veteran and Military Student Resource Center to ask questions, find resources or to just unwind between classes. JCCC’s knowledgeable staff is ready to answer questions and connect students with resources. The lounge area provides a place to study or hang out with other students.

GI Bill Enrollment and Certification
To use your VA education benefits, you must enroll in classes at JCCC and then be certified by the JCCC Veteran Services office.

Pre-enrollment for Veteran and Military students
In honor of your service to our country, JCCC grants pre-enrollment privileges to veteran and military students. You can access pre-enrollment by going to the Success Center and presenting your military or VA ID.
