Come celebrate with that special graduate! Here's what you need to know about attending the ceremony.
When and Where
The Commencement Ceremony will be held in person on Thursday, May 21, 2026, in the JCCC Gymnasium (campus map).
The College is located at 12345 College Blvd., Overland Park, KS.
There will be two ceremonies. The Gym will open one hour before each ceremony for arriving guests with in-person tickets:
- 3 p.m. - Associate of Applied Science degree and certificate candidates
- 6:30 p.m. - Associate of Arts, Associate of Fine Arts, Associate of Science and Associate of General Studies candidates
The processional to the Gymnasium begins 5 minutes before the ceremony start time. Plan for the ceremony to last approximately an hour and a half.
You need tickets this year
Each graduate is eligble for four tickets, providing they've followed the procedure. Consult the Commencement Information for Graduates page to learn more.
- Overflow seating in the Fieldhouse is available for all. No ticket is requried. The ceremony will be livestreamed.
- Kid-friendly activities will be offered in the Fieldhouse. (Children must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times.)
Frequently Asked Questions
- Both Commencement Ceremonies will take place in the JCCC Gym on the northwest side of campus.
- Enter campus via the Westgate/College Boulevard entrance and follow posted signage to Commencement parking.
- Parking is available in lots located on the north and west sides of campus, all within a short walking distance to the Gym.
- Accessible (ADA) parking is available in designated lots closest to the venue—look for posted signage upon arrival.
- Drop-off areas are available near the Gym entrance for guests with mobility needs.
- From all parking areas, clearly marked walking paths will guide you directly to the Gym.
- JCCC Police officers and staff will be stationed throughout campus to assist with traffic flow, directions, and safety.
- For additional assistance or emergencies, please contact JCCC Police at 913-469-2500.
- Plan to arrive early to allow time for parking and walking to the Gym.
