The Commencement ceremony on Thursday, May 21, is the highlight of many graduate's college experience. Don't miss out! Once you've applied to graduate, here's what you do.
Step 1 – Sign Up for the Commencement Ceremony
The deadline to claim your 4 guaranteed tickets and sign up to participate in commencement has passed.
If you have not yet indicated that you plan to participate in Commencement, you can still let us know you’re attending by completing the Missed Deadline RSVP form.
Step 2 – Tickets for Family and Friends
Students registered for Commencement participation by April 29 received:
- 4 guaranteed Gym tickets
- Overflow seating for additional guests in the Fieldhouse for livestream viewing (no ticket required)
Guests without Gym tickets are invited to celebrate by watching the live-streamed ceremony in the Fieldhouse, where no ticket is required.
Reminders Before the Ceremony
- Email or print tickets for your family and friends (if already claimed)
- Log in to Tassel
- Click “View” under your Active Ceremonies
- Select your claimed tickets to print or email them to your guests
Additional Information
- Tickets are required for entry into the Gym for the Commencement Ceremony
- Seating in the Gym is not assigned
Frequently Asked Questions
The Commencement Ceremony will be held in person on Thursday, May 21, 2026, in the JCCC Gymnasium.
There will be two ceremonies:
- 3 p.m. - Associate of Applied Science degree or certificate candidates
- Graduates should report to the JCCC Fieldhouse (the lower level of the Gymnasium) between 2 and 2:40 p.m.
- 6:30 p.m. - Associate of Arts, Associate of Fine Arts, Associate of Science and Associate of General Studies candidates
- Graduates should report to the JCCC Fieldhouse (the lower level of the Gymnasium) between 5:30 and 6:10 p.m.
The processional to the Gymnasium begins 5 minutes before the ceremony start time. Plan for the ceremony to last approximately an hour and a half.
Students who:
- Apply for graduation by February 15, and
- Register for commencement by April 29 will receive 4 guaranteed Gym tickets.
Yes, graduates are permitted to wear cords that are affiliated with a JCCC organization or program.
Yes, graduates may decorate their caps if they so choose.
GradImages is the official photographer as you cross the stage. You may view and order your photos 5-10 business days after the ceremony by visiting their website, www.gradimages.com. Simply enter your last name, your school’s name: Johnson County Community College, and select the year from the dropdown menu. Once you see your name, click on the link to view your photos. If you need additional help locating your photos, call the customer service department at 800-261-2576 or email them at [email protected].
All graduates participating in the ceremony will receive a medallion and diploma cover.
Actual diplomas are mailed within five weeks after the semester ends pending grade verification. Be sure to have your correct address on file with Admissions. To check your address:
