JCCC’s Computer Science & Information Technology (CSIT) Career Fair

CSIT Career Fair

Friday, April 12 | 9 a.m. – noon | JCCC's CoLab

Boost your future workforce! This year's CSIT Career Fair will demonstrate the technical and networking skills of our talented JCCC students and alumni. We're confident you'll find up-and-coming talent interested in full- and part-time employment, internships and job shadowing opportunities.

In a moderated panel, attendees will discover what a day on the job looks like as well as necessary industry qualifications.

After the panel, connect with our accomplished students and alumni as they showcase their school and professional projects. Each student is eager to network and gain professional feedback. You’ll help students and alumni understand what you look for in potential employees—and you may even meet your next new employee.

Know other career professionals looking to build their talent pipeline? Please feel free to share this event with your colleagues!

Free to employers, the Career Development Center at JCCC offers:

  • Recruiting opportunities
  • Job posting database
  • Job shadowing and internship opportunities

Posting jobs

We’re your direct link to the talent you need. Our students are actively looking for jobs, whether part-time as they finish their education or full-time to start their careers upon graduation.

We recommend posting open jobs in JobLinksSM.

JobLinks is a free job posting database for JCCC students and alumni, community members and employers. To use JobLinks:

  1. Download JobLinks Instructions for Employers (PDF)
  2. Create and register your account
  3. Access and update your account through the Employer JobLinks Login

Internships

Internships are built-in recruitment tools with many benefits* to you, including:

  • Bring in talented students to contribute to your organization’s goals and mission
  • Free up time for your full-time staff to increase productivity
  • Foster leadership skills in current employees who work with interns
  • Increase your visibility to other JCCC students

We will work with you to develop an internship program that meets your goals while also providing the educational value our students need to gain real-world experience.

For unpaid internships, please refer to the Fair Labor Standards Act guidelines.

Job Shadowing

Support the professional development of students who could be your future talent. Join a growing number of employers who serve as mentors in our job shadowing program.

It’s easy. Simply host interested students for a one-time, two- to four-hour job shadowing visit. Benefits to you include:

  • Leadership development opportunities for current employees
  • Increased name awareness among future professionals
  • A chance to connect with students who will be applying for internships and jobs in your industry
  • The opportunity to more deeply examine the “whys” behind your daily processes

We’ll work with you to set up a shadowing program that benefits both you and your guest student. Some tips:

  • Plan the visit to accommodate the student’s interests and goals
  • Include a tour of the office or worksite
  • Provide career advice that helped you succeed or grow
  • Allow time for the student to observe your daily tasks and responsibilities

Recruiting

On-campus recruiting has returned. If you are a local employer hiring for compliant job openings, set yourself up to meet the workforce of the future at JCCC.

Companies can reserve a recruiting table, at no charge, up to two times a semester. Tables are available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday-Thursday in the Food Court area of the Commons building. Requests for dates need to be submitted through JobLinks.
