- JCCC Tuberculosis (TB) Requirements
If you are required to undergo testing for Tuberculosis (TB) or retest for TB, there will be hold on your MyJCCC student account. To satisfy the hold, you must undergo the appropriate TB test at a Johnson County Health Department TB Clinic and submit test results and any other documentation (if required), to the International and Immigrant Student Services office (IISS) by the deadline communicated to you by the IISS office.
If you are a new JCCC student or a returning student who must complete a new admission application, you will only be permitted to enroll in face-to-face classes once you have submitted your TB tests results by email to IISS or by delivery to the IISS office in COM 306.
If you are a JCCC students who tested positive on your last TB test, you will only be permitted to enroll if you have a non-expired chest x-ray report on file or if you have submitted to the IISS office a card or certificate proving you completed treatment for latent TB infection.
TB testing can be done through a skin test or blood test. You are required to undergo a TB blood test instead of the TB skin test, if you meet any of the following criteria:
- are from one of the countries listed on the TB country list, and/or
- have ever had the BCG vaccine, and/or
- you tested positive in the past on a TB skin test yet you have never undergone a TB blood test
