- Pending Permanent Resident
A pending permanent resident is an individual who has applied for lawful permanent residency (a green card) in the United States.
You are considered a pending permanent resident if you have filed for permanent resident status (USCIS form I-485) and your case is pending and/or a decision has not been made.
1. Apply to JCCC
After applying to JCCC, you will be assigned an admission checklist. The preferred way to submit documents to IISS is through our secure Dynamic Forms. Visit our forms list.
2. Submit document copies to the IISS office in COM 306 or via the IISS Status Documents form.
- USCIS receipt of payment for the I-485, or
- USCIS fingerprint or interview letter verifying the I-485 has been filed
3. Undergo a TB blood test if:
- You are from one of the countries listed on the TB country list, and/or
- You have ever had the BCG vaccine, and/or
- You tested positive in the past on a TB skin test yet you have never undergone a TB blood test
TB Blood tests must be done at the Johnson County Health Department and results sent to the IISS office. See further details about TB screening.
*If you have completed a TB test when undergoing the biometric screening for permanent residency, you may submit the results for review.
4. Meet all other admission requirements
These can be found on your admission checklist.
