The Hospitality Management department is aligned with the Business Division and Johnson County Community College’s overall mission of inspiring learning by offering courses aligned with industry expectations and standards promoting professionalism and success. Furthermore, we seek to transform students’ lives by providing technical training both in class and in the field in simulated, real-world environments to prepare them for job success. Finally, we are entrenched in the hospitality community as charter members of the Greater Kansas City ACF Chefs Association, the Kansas and Missouri Restaurant Associations, the Hotel and Lodging Association, and a Department of Labor registered apprenticeship program, whereby our apprentices are working throughout the area to support economic development and growth.
Our programs embrace diversity, prioritizing the students and their needs, while maintaining elevated levels of support and care in the learning process. We support lifelong learning and provide opportunities for students to enrich themselves in and out of the classroom. We foster innovation by collaborating on events, experiences, and opportunities with our community partners, exposing students to relevant career-focused programming.
