Construction managers guide and motivate a team, follow budgets, solve problems, and prioritize tasks to complete projects on time. At JCCC dive into topics including:

  • Construction contracting, scheduling, cost estimating
  • BIM (building information modeling)
  • Personnel management and labor relations
  • Site safety
  • Sustainable building fundamentals

Learn to read a project manual, categorize drawings, and explain contract modifications. Application of soft skills like problem-solving, work ethics, and job interviewing provide the foundation for success.

As you prepare to find a job, we help you set up and manage your LinkedIn profile, create a resume, research potential employers and positions, and teach you how to respond in an interview.

JCCC is one of a handful of schools — including four-year institutions — where you can complete the program and be prepared to take tests for three professional certifications to increase your marketability:

  • Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Construction Safety Certification (30 hours)
  • Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Associate Certification (a credential in high demand as more building sites seek LEED certification)
  • Construction Document Technologist (CDT) Certification
