Your JCCC Student Senate
About Student Senate
Student Senate is your voice for all aspects of your education at JCCC. Comprised of five executive officers and 25 senators at-large, Student Senate provides government representation for the student body and allocates funds to student organizations. In addition, Student Senate works with the Center for Student Involvement to provide support and guidance to JCCC’s student organizations.
We Can Work Together to Address Student Needs
If you have ideas or concerns such as parking on campus to the smoking policy and beyond, we want to hear from you. Email us with your feedback or attend our meetings. We want to hear what is on you mind and make the most of your educational experience at JCCC. We are here to serve you.
Elections Each Fall
Student Senate elects senators at-large each fall. Interested students must be enrolled in credit coursework and maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA at the time of election and through the end of their terms.
It's Not Too Late to Join!
Interested students still have an opportunity to join Student Senate. To join, attend three consecutive meetings. During the third meeting, the Student Senate will vote on the prospective Senator. For more information, contact the Student Senate Executive Board at 913-469-8500, ext. 3414.
