The Office of the Dean of Student Services/Success (“Dean’s Office”) oversees the retention and disposal of all student-related records. The Dean’s Office is responsible for:
i) ensuring that the student-related records are collected, stored and released in accordance with applicable state and federal laws;
ii) monitoring all systems which contain students’ personally identifiable information, as defined in the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), in order to protect each individual's right to privacy, to ensure that all collected information is used only for the purpose for which it was intended and to provide reasonable safeguards to protect student record privacy; and
iii) maintaining a Student Records Retention and Disposal Schedule to align with the recommendations of the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO).
