The Office of Grants Leadership and Development helps faculty and staff translate ideas that advance the mission of JCCC into fundable grant proposals and monitors the implementation of successfully funded grant projects.

National Science Foundation
Fostering a Community of Scholarship Among Community College STEM Faculty Through Support of Discipline-Based Education Research
To provide training in developing, piloting and evaluating discipline-based education research (DBER) to 18 STEM faculty. This cohort of STEM faculty will then pilot and assess evidence-based teaching practices in their classrooms and publish/present on results.

KHC Kansas Stories of the Vietnam War
The Kansas Studies Institute will collaborate with the JCCC Veteran and Military Resource Center to train student veterans as oral historians and host a veteran memoir writing workshop and a community conversation panel during Veterans Week in November 2018.

KCA Construction Education Foundation Grant
To purchase a digital metallurgy microscope for the Metal Fabrication/Welding program.

IME-Becas Scholarship Program 2017-2018
To continue a student scholarship program designed for Mexican students or those of Mexican origin.

National Center for Women and Information Technology
AspireIT K-12 Outreach Program
Participants will learn the fundamentals of computer science, meet women in STEM fields and participate in the second annual KC STEMinists Hackathon.

U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs
Bulletproof Vest Partnership (BVP) Program
To reimburse a portion of the total cost to replace 25 bulletproof vests for campus police officers.

To support purchasing laptop computers to help students to gain the skills on accounting fundamentals and MS Excel.

Annual Program Statement – Sindh and Balochistan
To support the creation of eight online tutorials to provide supplemental English Language instruction to Pakistani students in the National Talent Hunt Program at Sukkur IBA in Sindh Province.

U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration
Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) Operator Safety Training Grant
To recruit, enroll, and graduate in JCCC’s CDL program 15 veterans and/or their family members, as well as assist with job placement into a professional truck driving position over the 12-month grant period.

National Endowment for the Arts/Kansas Creative Arts Industries Commission
New Dance Partners, New Dance Lab
Through New Dance Partners, a select group of local professional dance companies are paired with reputable choreographers from across the county to create new works. The program provides an opportunity for local dance companies to advance and sustain artistic development.

To intern at Deluxe Corporation to gain hands-on experience in digital advertising campaigns and provide real life examples to students.

To continue the Procurement Technical Assistance (PTA) services to work with local business owners to grow their businesses via sales to the government.

Dollar General Literacy Foundation Adult Literacy Grant
To enable a transition to a cohort model with scheduled group instruction in reading and math, while still retaining elements of individualized instruction that have helped students succeed.

Dollar General Literacy Foundation Family Literacy Grant
To provide literacy instruction, quality age- and skill-level appropriate materials and reading encouragement to approximately 961 individuals including children and adults.

First National Bank Community Development Grants
To provide the strategic implementation workshop - GAME (Growth through Action, measurement and Engagement) – to growing businesses.

Missing Children: Dynamics and Response Training
To host a training to provide critical information for call-takers, first responders, first line supervisors and investigators who will respond to a missing child incident and whose knowledge, skill and ability may make the difference between a recovery or protracted investigation. 

PepsiCo Recycling Zero Impact Fund
To expand the current kitchen food waste program to include post-consumer compost infrastructure and education efforts across campus to achieve the zero-waste goal.
