The Office of Grants Leadership and Development helps faculty and staff translate ideas that advance the mission of JCCC into fundable grant proposals and monitors the implementation of successfully funded grant projects.

Career and Technical Education Perkins Reserve Grant Fund
To support purchasing equipment for the Photonics program.

Classroom Innovator Awards
To support the Girls Who Code Club for girls grades 6-12 interested in learning more about technology and computer science.

Access to Success (additional funding, extension of 2014 grant)
To provide knowledge and skills to students with disabilities to enable them to advocate for accommodation needed to succeed in their coursework and to gain self-advocacy skills that may help them in their transition to work.

AT&T Aspire Grant 2017
To support the creation, piloting, and assessment of 11 tutorials for the English Language Learner (ELL) students pursuing a degree in Automotive Technology.

To provide a mentor to assist in developing a cybersecurity certificate or an A.A.S. degree.

Migrant Family Literacy Grant FY 17-18
To provide Family Literacy Services to the migrant families attending ESL classes at the Center of Grace.

Carl Perkins Program Improvement Grant FY18
To more fully develop the academic and career technical skills of students enrolled in career and technical education programs.

Kansas Nursing Initiative Grant FY18
To support the travel costs for nursing faculty to attend three professional conferences.

Adult Education WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act) Grant
To help adults improve basic skills including English language proficiency, reading, writing, math, computer use, problem-solving and other “soft” skills critical for workforce success.

Technology Internship Grant
To intern at Deluxe Corporation to gain hands-on experience in digital advertising campaigns and provide real life examples to students.

Procurement Technical Assistance Center 2017
To continue the Procurement Technical Assistance (PTA) services to work with local business owners to grow their businesses via sales to the government.

Dollar General Literacy Foundation Adult Literacy Grant
To enable a transition to a cohort model with scheduled group instruction in reading and math, while still retaining elements of individualized instruction that have helped students succeed.

Dollar General Literacy Foundation Family Literacy Grant
To provide literacy instruction, quality age- and skill-level appropriate materials and reading encouragement to approximately 961 individuals including children and adults.

Community Development Grants
To provide the strategic implementation workshop - GAME (Growth through Action, measurement and Engagement) – to growing businesses.

Career and Technical Education Perkins Leadership Fund
To develop, pilot and evaluate six online writing tutorials to be used in Accounting II courses. 

National Collegiate Honors Council Consultant Grants
For two reviewers, trained by NCHC's Assessment & Evaluation Committee in the best practices of honors administration, to review the JCCC Honors program and provide recommendations.

Jobs and Innovative Industry Skills Training (JIIST)
To provide GED students the opportunity to co-enroll in the Construction Management certificate program at JCCC.

Missing Children: Dynamics and Response Training
To host a training to provide critical information for call-takers, first responders, first line supervisors and investigators who will respond to a missing child incident and whose knowledge, skill and ability may make the difference between a recovery or protracted investigation. 

PepsiCo Recycling Zero Impact Fund
To expand the current kitchen food waste program to include post-consumer compost infrastructure and education efforts across campus to achieve the zero-waste goal.

To provide small business consulting and training to existing and aspiring small business owners.

SkillBuilders Fund Grant
To hold 4 "Hour of Code" workshops for 7th-8th grade girls in Johnson County school districts. In Fall 2017, these same students will be invited to a Computer Science and Information Technology event on campus.

Enactus Women’s Economic Empowerment Project Accelerator
The JCCC / Blue Valley Enactus student group will work with Kansas City-based Tamale Kitchen to empower women by providing entrepreneurial training and workforce development as part of the Enactus Women’s Economic Empowerment Project Accelerator.

Consulate of Mexico in Kansas City IME-Becas Scholarship Program
To continue a student scholarship program designed for Mexican students or those of Mexican origin.

Commerce Trust Company / Richard J. Stern Foundation Grant
To provide general operating support of the Performing Arts Series.

Career and Technical Education Work Ethic Training Fund
To train 25 deans, chairs and faculty in Career and Technical Education Perkins funded programs to incorporate work ethic curriculum into their courses.

Innovative Technology Grant
To support adapting existing courses within the Computer Support Specialist program to a hybrid, competency-based model.

Innovative Technology Grant
To purchase equipment for the launch of new elective courses in Photonics (lasers, optics and light) within the existing Electronics Technology Associate of Applied Science program.

To support general operations of the Nerman Museum.

ArtsKC Ovation Grant 2016-2017 (Performing Arts)
To support general operations of the Performing Arts Series.

AspireIT K-12 Outreach Program
To support a weekly program for middle school girls to gain an understanding of computer science and a basic foundation of coding skills.

Commercial Motor Vehicle Operator Safety Training Grant
To recruit, enroll in JCCC's CDL program and assist with job placement, 24 veterans and/or their family members.

Nursing Initiative Grant FY17
To build the nursing workforce and the nursing faculty of the future based on the shortage in both areas.

Secondary Education, Two-Year Postsecondary Education, and Agriculture in the Classroom (SPECA) Challenge Grant Program
To hold a two-day conference of secondary and post-secondary educators, non-profit organizations, practicing farmers, and employers in the sustainable agriculture field to build a collaborative network and work towards developing an AAS in sustainable agriculture for interested community colleges in Kansas.

Sustainability Education and Economic Development (SEED) Green Genome Award
To begin developing an experiential program for students from the construction management, pre-engineering and interior design programs to build a net-zero-energy tiny house.
