Frequently Asked Questions

The Commencement ceremony will be held in person on Friday, May 17, 2024, in the JCCC Gymnasium.

There will be two ceremonies:

  • 4 p.m. - Associate of Applied Science degree or certificate candidates
    Report to the JCCC Fieldhouse (the lower level of the Gymnasium) beginning at 3 p.m.

  • 7:30 p.m. - Associate of Arts, Associate of Fine Arts, Associate of Science and Associate of General Studies candidates
    Report to the Fieldhouse at 6:30 p.m.

The processional to the Gymnasium begins 5 minutes before the ceremony start time. Plan for the ceremony to last approximately an hour and a half.

The Gymnasium will open for arriving guests an hour before the ceremony start time. Seats have been reserved on the floor for individuals with disabilities. Your guests are welcome to sit in the bleachers or the balcony area.

Yes, you have until May 16, 2024, to stop by the JCCC Bookstore to fill out a “student information card"; however, the earlier you can fill out your card, the better! This secures your participation in the Commencement ceremony.

Yes! Tickets are not required. The Gymnasium will open an hour before each ceremony start time. Seats have been reserved on the floor for individuals with disabilities. Your guests are welcome to sit in the bleachers or the balcony area.

All diplomas are mailed within five weeks after the semester ends. Be sure to have your correct address on file with Admissions. To check your address:
  • Go to MyJCCC

  • Update Information
  • View Address(es) and Phone(s)
We will be livestreaming each Commencement ceremony via JCCC's cable channel and video website. View the programming details and watch the livestream at video.jccc.edu.

Yes, graduates are permitted to wear cords that are affiliated with a JCCC organization or program.

Phi Theta Kappa stoles and tassels can only be purchased by members online at www.ptk.org.

Yes, graduates may decorate their caps if they so choose.

GradImages is the official photographer as you cross the stage. You may view and order your photos 5-10 business days after the ceremony by visiting their website, www.gradimages.com. Simply enter your last name, your school’s name: Johnson County Community College, and select the year from the dropdown menu. Once you see your name, click on the link to view your photos.  If you need additional help locating your photos, call the customer service department at 800-261-2576 or email them at giservice@gradimages.net.
