When you receive aid at JCCC, it's important to understand the following JCCC Terms and Conditions for your financial aid offer.
Prior to acceptance of offered financial aid at JCCC, you must review and agree to the following through your MyJCCC account:
- You must be in an aid eligible degree, and financial aid funds will be paid based on enrolled eligible hours which apply toward your degree/certificate.
- You may not receive federal aid from more than one higher education institution at a time.
- All outstanding requirements must be completed before financial aid is offered and/or disbursed. In the event conflicting information, or verification selection after disbursement, aid eligibility could be impacted.
- Offered funds not accepted by 4 weeks will be canceled and aid offers are contingent on enrollment.
- Financial aid and institutional scholarships will be disbursed (paid) approximately 30 days after the official start of the semester. You authorize JCCC to use aid available to pay any institutional charges you have incurred, in excess of tuition and course fees.
- Full refunds are delayed for single semester loans. Pell Grant and student loans will post approximately 10 days following late start class start date.
- Pell Grant eligibility is based on your enrollment status as of the census date for the term. Major change requests must be submitted and processed by the census date for financial aid consideration.
- Pell Grant is pro-rated based on actual, eligible enrollment. Federal Direct Student Loans require enrollment in 6+ credit hours and may be pro-rated based on length of program.
- If not enrolled full-time (12+ credit hours), Pell Grant and Federal Direct Student Loan amounts originally offered may be reduced.
- Any scholarship or outside resource may impact eligibility for federal and institutional financial aid. JCCC scholarships may be adjusted/reduced/removed as required by federal regulations in relation to Cost of Attendance (COA).
- Dropping classes may have an impact on current and future financial aid eligibility, and you may have to pay back all or a portion of paid aid. Satisfactory Academic Progress standards must be met each semester.
