ID.me is a secure online service used by millions of people across the country, including federal agencies, state governments, and higher education institutions. Think of it as a secure, digital version of your driver’s license or passport.
Once you verify your identity, your ID.me account becomes a portable digital ID. You can use it at JCCC, other colleges, or to access government portals like the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

- Create your ID.me wallet
Select the verification link below to visit the JCCC ID.me portal. Tip: Use a personal email address (not your JCCC student email) so you maintain access to your ID.me account after you graduate. - Confirm your email and secure your wallet
Check your inbox for a confirmation code. Set up multi-factor authentication (such as a text message code) for an extra layer of security. - Upload your photo ID
Take a clear photo of a government-issued photo ID (driver’s license, state ID, passport, or passport card). - Take a selfie
ID.me will prompt you to take a quick smartphone selfie. This verifies that the person completing the setup matches the photo on the identity document.
- Important: To complete the verification process, you must agree to ID.me's Photo Matching & Biometric Privacy Terms. ID.me uses this technology only to verify that the person submitting the information matches the photo on the identity document.

Across the country, fraudulent applications divert millions of dollars away from real students. JCCC is proud to do our part to protect access to financial aid and educational opportunities for our students.
Completing your ID.me verification is required for your financial aid to be officially disbursed. If this step is skipped, your financial aid can’t pay your tuition balance or generate a refund check for textbooks and living expenses.
While there isn't a strict final deadline, we encourage you to complete this process ahead of the disbursement date. This ensures there won’t be delays in receiving your financial aid.
Great news! You won't have to start from scratch. We just ask that you reauthenticate through the official ID.me link located in your My Financial Aid requirements on MyJCCC. Keep a close eye on your student email and visit jccc.edu/IDme for the latest information.
Yes. While the FAFSA verification confirms your identity for the federal government, JCCC requires its own separate authentication to safely disburse funds directly to your student account. To make sure your tuition is paid on time, complete this requirement even if you already verified your information on the FAFSA.
Your aid is still on track. To protect our students from the threat of identity theft, JCCC has introduced enhanced fraud prevention measures. Identity theft can severely impact a student's credit score, financial aid eligibility, and path to graduation. This quick, new verification step ensures that your financial aid is safe and secure.
Because federal Parent PLUS loans are tied to your parents' information, they will need to complete the ID.me verification process as well. Please check your My Financial Aid requirements page inside MyJCCC for specific instructions regarding parent loans.
