What will I learn in JCCC's German program?

Speak the language of inventors and innovators. Be challenged and have fun as you practice learning to speak and write German; it might be easier than you think. In only one semester, discover that:

  • Knowing the 1,000 most common words means you’ve learned 80 percent of the language
  • German and English words are closely related because many share the same roots
  • Pronunciation is easier than many other languages

In the scientific realm, German speakers are in high demand. Perfect your German  in Elementary German l (FL 120) and ll (FL 121). Intermediate German l (FL 220) and ll (FL 221) are only offered during the summer semester.

Two years of German meets the foreign language requirement for many bachelor’s degrees. Most German courses at JCCC are guaranteed to transfer to all Kansas public postsecondary institutions.
