It’s okay to be undecided about your major when starting college. Choose the Exploratory area of interest to receive guidance, tools, and opportunities to help you discover your ideal career.

Here’s how to get started:

  1.  Connect with JCCC Admissions to learn about life as a Cavalier. Choose the option that’s best for you: 
  2. Apply for admission (it’s free!) and select Exploratory as your area of interest. After your application is processed, you’ll receive an email with next steps, such as completing New Student Orientation.
  3. After completing New Student Orientation, you will meet with a member of our team who will help you identify all your options.

As you learn more about careers and your interests, skills, and values, you’ll be better equipped to make decisions about your future. Once you’ve weighed your options, you’ll be ready to choose a path that excites you and aligns with your goals.

What if I change my mind?

It’s okay to change your major. In fact, many students do at least once. If you decide to switch, work with your counselor to create a new plan. Tools like Plan My Classes can help you stay on target to graduate and/or transfer.
