Johnson County Community College (JCCC) searches for its next President
JCCC embraces a mission of inspiring learning to transform lives and strengthen communities, a direction that has endured since the College opened its doors in 1969. The President of the College reports directly to a seven-member governing board whose members are elected at large and serve four-year terms.
The College is fully accredited by the Higher Learning Commission and committed to offering accessible, high quality education from a main campus and multiple satellite locations. JCCC is devoted to enriching lives by meeting individual, community, and workforce needs in a welcoming and supportive environment.
Serving Johnson County, Kansas, and the entire Kansas City metropolitan area, JCCC supports the educational and career goals of students through more than 100 degree and certificate programs. Knowledgeable, dedicated faculty and staff work on behalf of more than 38,000 credit and continuing education students in a stimulating academic community.

Meet the candidates

Provide feedback on candidate Feleccia Moore-Davis
Dr. Feleccia Moore-Davis is the Campus President at St. Louis Community College (STLCC) - Meramec in Kirkwood, MO, with 15 years of experience in higher education.
Prior to her role as President at STLCC - Meramec, Dr. Moore-Davis served as the Provost at Tallahassee State College. She has also held leadership positions, including Vice President for Instruction and Dean of Business, Math, Communications, and Computer Information Technology at Lone Star College. Earlier in her career, Dr. Moore-Davis held the position of Psychology Faculty and Department Chair at Houston Community College. She also served as a Lecturer at the University of Houston.
In addition to her professional endeavors, Dr. Moore-Davis serves as a Board Member for several organizations, including Missouri College and Career Attainment Network, Kirkwood-DesPeres Chamber of Commerce and St. Louis Higher Education Council.
Dr. Moore-Davis has received multiple awards, including the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Shirley B. Gordan Award of Distinction and PTK President’s Paragon Award.
Dr. Moore-Davis holds a Doctorate of Organizational Leadership from Regent University, a Master of Science in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Texas A&M University, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Xavier University of Louisiana.

Dr. Tony Miksa is the President of Walters State Community College in Morristown, TN, with over 20 years of experience in higher education.
Prior to his role as President at Walters State Community College, Dr. Miksa served as Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs at McHenry County College. He has also held leadership positions, including Dean of Math, Science and Health Professions and Dean of Mathematics, Science, Education and Health at both Elgin Community College and Kishwaukee College. Earlier in Dr. Miksa’s career, he served as a tenured Mathematics Instructor at Kishwaukee College.
In addition to his professional endeavors, Dr. Miksa is the Chair of the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) Board. He has also served as Chair of the Morristown Chamber of Commerce and was actively involved with the Jefferson County Chamber of Commerce.
Dr. Miksa received multiple awards, including the Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) President’s Paragon Award for new presidents and Mount Mercy College Distinguished Alumni Award.
Dr. Miksa holds a Doctorate of Education, Community College Leadership from National Louis University, a Master of Arts in Mathematics from the University of Northern Iowa, a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Mount Mercy College, and an Associate of Arts in Mathematics from Kishwaukee College.

Dr. Curt Oldfield is the President at Spoon River College in Canton, Illinois, with over 20 years of experience in higher education.
Prior to his role as President at Spoon River College, Dr. Oldfield served as the Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs at Northeast Iowa Community College. Dr. Oldfield also held the leadership position of Dean of Instruction at Spoon River College. Earlier in Dr. Oldfield’s career, he served as an Agriculture Instructor at Spoon River College and High School Agriculture Teacher at Roseville School District in Roseville Illinois.
In addition to his professional endeavors, Dr. Oldfield serves on the Board of Directors for several organizations, including the Canton Family YMCA, the Spoon River Partnership for Economic Development, and the Canton Chamber of Commerce. He is also the President of the Canton Rotary.
Dr. Oldfield has received multiple awards and honors, including Illinois Community College Trustees Association Advocacy Award and being recognized as a recipient of the Illinois State University Academy of Achievement honor.
Dr. Oldfield holds a Doctorate of Education, Community College Leadership from Ferris State University, a Master of Science in Agriculture Education from University of Illinois, a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture Education from Illinois State University, and an Associate of Science from Spoon River College.

- Search consultants meet with campus constituent groups to discuss desired presidential priorities & leadership characteristics
- Finalize president search profile and submit for Board of Trustee approval
October – December 2024
- Announcement regarding the presidential search; search consultants actively initiate the recruitment process
January 2025
- Search Committee reviews the candidate pool
- Search Committee conducts semi-finalist interviews and selects candidates to move forward for the final interviews
February – March 2025
- Finalist interviews (on and around campus)
- Board of Trustees selects the candidate of choice
