HITECH: Health Information Systems

Those who work in the Health Information Technology field:

  • Help digitize the healthcare industry
  • Support electronic health record transition
  • Manage health information exchange
  • Train medical providers in electronic record use
  • Join solution software teams
  • Support health clinics, hospitals, doctor offices

The HITECH program provides training to those with work experience and/or education in the related health care and information technology fields who want to transition into the specialized field of health IT.

If you're seeking a degree in a healthcare or IT/IS field, you can optimize your education in the new credit program.

First, choose from one of two health information systems certificates:

  • Health Information Management Redesign Specialist
  • Health Information Systems Specialist

Next, apply for program acceptance. We're now taking applications for programs that begin this spring and summer.

Finally, select either the continuing education (non-credit) program or one of two credit programs.

All of the following programs share the same curriculum as approved by the Kansas Board of Regents.
