The Respiratory Care program is a selective admission program with specific application requirements.

If you want to enter the Respiratory Care program, the following steps can set you on your way toward your career path.

Because this is a selective admission program, please pay particular attention to the transcript and eligibility requirements. If you have applied before and were not selected, you must reapply.

The Fall 2020 Respiratory Care application opens in December 2019 and closes March 15, 2020.

New JCCC Students:

Prospective RC students who have not attended JCCC before (or if it has been more than two years since you last attended) must complete a JCCC application for admission. The application is the first step in the enrollment process; select Non-Degree Seeking or Liberal Arts for your major and the Spring 2020 term.

After you receive your JCCC ID number, follow the steps below. It may take five business days for your application to be processed; please email the Admissions office if you want to apply to the program within 10 days of the posted deadline.

Current JCCC Students:

  1. Complete the Respiratory Care application
  2. Arrange for official transcripts (high school/GED and all previous colleges with transferable work) to be sent directly to JCCC. It is not necessary to request JCCC transcripts or transcripts already on file at JCCC. Your college transcripts must demonstrate a prerequisite GPA of 2.0 or higher to be eligible for admission to the program. Students with international transcripts (high school or college) need to allow extra time for their foreign transcripts to be evaluated. Please contact a coordinator or the program director of the International and Immigrant Student Services office, COM 306, 913-469-7680, for more information. All documents must be submitted prior to the application deadline (March 15) for students to be considered eligible for application to the program.
  3. Submit the Disclosure and Consent for Background Check form.
  4. For an extra point in ranking, email your current KS CNA verification to the Admissions office or drop it off at the Student Center Room 319.
  5. Contact the Respiratory Care program office early and maintain contact through the application process.
  6. Monitor your personal admission plan, your MyJCCC account and your student email for information on your application status.
