Commencement Speakers

Both JCCC Commencement ceremonies will include comments from two speakers – 2025 JCCC graduate Kynleigh Chappell and former JCCC Board of Trustees member Greg Musil.

Kynleigh Chappell started at JCCC in Fall 2022 and graduates with an Associate Degree in Liberal Arts. She is excited to pursue a career in marketing and communications. Chappell is a shining example of a student who eagerly embraced the many opportunities available at JCCC that allowed her to thrive as a student, take an active role in her campus community, and grow as a future leader.

During her time at JCCC, Chappell:

  • Served as both a Student Life Ambassador and as Secretary of the Student Senate in Spring 2023
  • Served as president of the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS) for the 2024-2025 academic year
  • Completed the NSLS and Cavalier Leadership programs

Greg Musil has been a steadfast advocate for Johnson County Community College for more than 30 years.

His commitment began in 1994 when he joined the steering committee for Some Enchanted Evening, JCCC’s premier scholarship fundraising event. Seventeen years later, he was elected to the JCCC Board of Trustees, where he served for 12 years, including four years as board chair. Musil’s goal was – and is – to ensure JCCC’s continued excellence in serving students and the community.

A native Kansan, Musil was raised on a farm near Frankfort, KS., and later earned degrees from Kansas State University and the University of Virginia School of Law. Today, he is a partner at Rouse Frets White Goss Gentile Rhodes, P.C.

Musil’s public service includes eight years on the Overland Park City Council, where he chaired the 2021 Johnson County Charter Commission and co-chaired the Forward OP visioning initiative. He has lent his leadership skills to numerous civic and charitable organizations, including the Overland Park Chamber of Commerce, the Wyandotte Health Foundation, and the Kansas Leadership Center.
