The goal: Help JCCC students who are also parents finish their degrees.
If you worry about finding enough money to cover child care and your tuition, we can help.
The JCCC Child Care Access Fund Scholarship is funded through a four-year grant JCCC received from the U.S. Department of Education’s Child Care Access Means Parents in School (CCAMPIS) program.
The scholarship covers up to 95 percent of child care costs through the state-licensed and nationally accredited Hiersteiner Child Development Center (HCDC) on campus.
It’s more than simply convenient for you. At HCDC, you can feel confident knowing your child will have excellent, consistent care from skilled providers at a premier child care center.
How to Apply for the JCCC Child Care Access Fund Scholarship:
- Complete a JCCC application for admission. You must first be an accepted JCCC student for consideration.
- If you have a dependent child between age 1 year and walking through age 6 (as of Sep. 1), apply for child care at the HCDC.
- Fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). A FAFSA is required, as candidates must show financial need and Pell Grant eligibility based on the FAFSA results.
- Log in to the JCCC Scholarship Portal and complete the JCCC Scholarship Application for the current year.
There is no deadline to apply as applications are considered throughout the year. However, space in the HCDC fills fast, so we encourage you to apply early. We recommend you apply before JCCC’s scholarship priority deadline of April 1.
We’ll notify you if you are eligible, so watch your stumail account.
