Program-Specific Group Tours

Fine Arts & Design + Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art

Middle and High School Students | Maximum of 24 Students

Immerse yourself in the world of art and design with tours of both the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art (NMOCA) and JCCC’s Fine Arts and Design Studio (FADS) building. FADS is home to our Ceramics, Digital Imaging, Drawing, Film and Media Studies, Graphic Design, Metal and Silversmithing, Painting, Photography and Sculpture programs. NMOCA currently houses the incredible The Salon for Possible Futures exhibit. Let this immersive art exhibit fuel your student’s creative juices as they wrap up this experience by participating in a hands-on activity hosted by the Nerman team.

Sustainability + Open Petal Farm

Middle and High School Students | Maximum of 50 Students

JCCC is home to a 3-acre farm which provides hands-on learning experiences for our Sustainable Agriculture students. Tours of Open Petal Farm include the growing fields, a moveable high tunnel, a solar storage shed, a CoolBot® refrigerated trailer and numerous other projects. Tour groups can also learn about JCCC’s sustainability efforts including campus recycling, energy conservation and composting.

Astronomy

Middle and High School Students | Maximum of 24 Students

Explore the fascinating world of astronomy with a tour of the Astronomy and Physics labs. Look through telescopes (if weather permits) and engage in an out-of-this-world activity with faculty.

Emergency Medical Science (EMS) and Nursing

Middle and High School Students | Maximum of 24 Students

Discover the work environments of emergency medical technicians (EMTs) and nurses by touring an ambulance and simulated hospital rooms complete with equipment and interactive mannequin patients. Learn about the differences between JCCC’s many medical programs and have your questions answered by our knowledgeable faculty with real-world medical experience.

Career Development

Middle and High School Students | Maximum of 40 Students

It’s a big world full of opportunity. Choosing a college degree and future career can be stressful. Career Development Center staff will lead your group in a fun, hands-on activity to help students identify their strengths and learn how they might translate into a college degree and career path.

Timeframe: 10 a.m.-11:30 a.m. + Optional Lunch On-Campus from 11:30 a.m.-12:15 p.m.

Creative Media

Middle and High School Students | Maximum of 30 Students

Students will step into the world of creative media with an immersive field trip that connects design, production and storytelling. They’ll tour a professional print shop to see how ideas come to life on paper, participate in a hands-on graphic design activity to develop their own creative concepts, and go behind the scenes of a video production studio to learn how visual stories are crafted for the screen. This experiences shows the full journey of how messages are designed, produced and shared across different media.

Timeframe: 9:30 - 11:40 a.m. + Optional Lunch On-Campus from 11:45 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
