This bill authorizes JCCC to waive the cost of tuition for students who meet specified criteria.

The Excel in CTE bill authorizes JCCC to waive the cost of tuition for students who:

  • Reside in and attend high school in Kansas.
  • Are classified as a junior or senior in high school.
  • Have an unweighted cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  • Have completed at least half of their high school graduation requirements.

Note: Excel in CTE tuition waivers will not cover tuition if a student fails an Excel in CTE course and wants to retake the course. If a student fails two Excel in CTE courses they are no longer eligible for any future tuition waivers.
