Skilled web developers and digital media designers are in high demand in one of the fastest-growing industries around. Turn your technological savvy into success with a career in the lucrative field of web development and digital media.

What Will I Learn in JCCC's Web Development and Digital Media Program?

Start a conversation or tell a story using the language of technology. With just a few semesters of study, you'll gain a deeper understanding of digital workflow, web applications, web development and content management — and be ready to launch your new career in web development and digital media.

Work in both Windows and Mac to build your toolbox. Start with the basics of HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Move on to web scripting for front-end and back-end design and development using PHP, UX, UI, Bootstrap, jQuery and React. Get experience building in WordPress and Drupal content management systems.

In our Web Development and Digital Media courses, you'll learn:

  • Digital media concepts
  • Digital workflow
  • Web analytics
  • Visual storytelling
  • Search engine optimization (SEO)
  • User experience
  • Content and digital asset creation
  • Emerging technologies
  • Web scripting

JCCC's Web Development and Digital Media program has four different tracks to choose from.

  • Web Development and Digital Media, AAS: In just four semesters, you'll take various Web Development and Digital Media courses. Upon completing 63 credit hours, you will graduate with an Associate of Applied Science degree in Web Development and Digital Media.
  • Digital Media Certificate: Learn web scripting, HTML, web analytics and SEO through JCCC's Digital Media certificate. You will also gain experience in visual storytelling and digital media assets.
  • Web Development Certificate: Gain valuable technical interface skills, server scripting, CSS techniques and more through our Web Development certificate.
  • Web Technologies Certificate: By completing 16 credits in six courses, you'll earn the Web Technologies certificate and learn valuable skills in HTML, web scripting, digital workflow and digital media concepts.

Why JCCC's Web Development and Digital Media Program?

JCCC's stackable Web Development and Digital Media certificates allow you to either move into the workforce after earning a certificate or continue building your skills and earn an Associate of Applied Science degree in Web Development and Digital Media.

Get paid to build your portfolio. After 12 hours, you'll be eligible to take on projects for paying clients as part of JC3 Innovations Student Agency. All proceeds go toward establishing scholarship programs for JCCC multimedia students.

Whether you prefer code or content, you'll build technical skills with hands-on experience in JCCC's state-of-the-art computer and production labs. Create podcast and video content. Collaborate with colleagues in our fully equipped computer labs.

Each of our Web Development and Digital Media classes is taught by professionals with valuable industry experience. Class sizes are limited to 15 students for a more in-depth learning experience and one-on-one time with your instructor. Online classes are available.
