Want some experience beyond the classroom? Interested in working alongside media professionals? Willing to take the time to learn more?
Students who have completed college courses in journalism and media communications may qualify for an internship, a hands-on learning experience with Kansas City area media and businesses.
Internships let students get work experience under staff supervision. The emphasis is on learning new skills related to a particular program or department at a media facility.
Students may learn to write for print or broadcast or may be involved in promotion or production work.
This on-the-job training involves about 12 to 15 hours a week, a required total of 180 hours, by arrangement.
You can start applying for internships on the following dates:
- Aug. 15 for fall semester
- Nov. 15 for spring semester
- March 15 for summer session
