New Dance Partners, New Dance Lab 2022-2023
Through New Dance Partners, a select group of local professional dance companies are paired with reputable choreographers from across the country to create new works. The 2022-2023 program provides an opportunity for local dance companies to advance and sustain artistic development.

Integrated Arts Education Program FY23
To train a cohort of locally-based Kennedy Center certified teaching artists. These teaching artists will serve as a resource for K-12 educators throughout Kansas looking to integrate arts into their non-arts curriculum.

To provide up to 60 scholarships for Johnson County Community College full-time employees to attend programming offered by the Kansas Leadership Center as we work to develop future leaders under our new governance structures. The programming will be offered both in-person and virtually throughout 2023.

Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) Operator Safety Training Grant
To recruit and enroll in JCCC’s CDL program 15 veterans and/or their family members, as well as assist with job placement into a professional truck driving position over the 27-month grant period.

To conduct workshops for Marketing Management students on personal branding, networking, and sales skills. Six workshops will be held – three in the Fall of 2022 and three in the Spring of 2023.

To support faculty professional development and purchase a new Gaumard Mannikin for the Healthcare Simulation Center.

National Science Foundation
EPSCoR Research Infrastructure Improvement Program Track-1 (RII Track-1)
To develop a capstone course for the Data Analytics certificate program that will train students to translate their skills by working with Kansas businesses and organizations. The course will be a component of a statewide initiative to develop an interdisciplinary data science consortium—the Kansas Data Science Corps.

National Science Foundation
Scholarships in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (S-STEM)
To provide at least 54 academically talented, Pell-eligible students with 2-year scholarships. Scholarship students will also participate in extra-curricular activities to help facilitate transfer to a 4-year higher education institution.

To support full-time faculty in CTE programs to intern at regional businesses to upgrade knowledge and skills in their profession, vocation, or trade. Professor Hugh Clark, Chair of the Automation Engineer Technology Program, will intern with SMC Corporation of America for 200 hours this summer.

To provide Procurement Technical Assistance (PTA) services to local business owners to grow their businesses via sales to the government.

Low Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Vehicle Technologies Program
To support the purchase of 8 electric/ hybrid plugin vehicles to replace current gasoline vehicles in JCCC’s fleet scheduled for replacement. In addition, the funding will support the purchase and installation of 6 dual port electric vehicle charging stations on campus.

Japanese Teaching Material Purchase Grant
To purchase calligraphy tools for use by students in Japanese classes and participants attending community workshops.

ArtsKC – Regional Arts Council
ArtsKC Project Support Grant 2021-2022 (Midwest Trust Center)
To offset losses for shows held in September and October 2021, which were sold at reduced capacity, allowing social distancing between audience members, due to the risk of COVID-19.

An eight-member team of faculty and staff will attend a two-week virtual seminar to receive technical assistance on moving JCCC’s guided pathways initiative forward. The JCCC team will receive post-institute coaching from CCRC through December 2022.

Funds will be used to cover minor renovations and operating expenses.

To host a summer camp for 20 low-income students entering 9th, 10th, or 11th grade. The camp will introduce students to career pathways in transportation industries, including railways, ground transportation, air, and inland waterways.
