OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – Talk with recruiters from companies actively looking for qualified drivers at Johnson County Community College’s CDL Job Fair happening Thursday, July 15, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the Capitol Federal Conference Center (Regnier Center 101). The event is free and open to the public.

Recruiters from these companies will discuss job opportunities and benefits:

  • Dot Foods
  • American Central Transport Inc.
  • Jett Trucking
  • PepsiCo
  • Earp Distribution

JCCC offers weekday and weekend CDL instruction. All program graduates complete an intense CDL theory course, including hazardous material training for entry-level drivers.

According to a report by the American Trucking Association, the industry will be facing a shortage of nearly 100,000 drivers by 2023. As of 2019, the average median pay for a truck driver was around $59,000.
