OVERLAND PARK, Kan. – At the regularly scheduled Johnson County Community College (JCCC) Board of Trustees meeting on June 17, 2021, the Board unanimously voted to renew the contract of President Andy Bowne.

“The Board of Trustees conducted a comprehensive review of Dr. Bowne’s first year as president and I’m pleased that all of us agreed to reaffirm our support and confidence in his leadership of the College,” said Greg Musil, Board of Trustees chair. “As we all know, this was an unprecedented year for every aspect of society, including community colleges, and Dr. Bowne and his team navigated it with grace and skill. We look forward to his continued work moving JCCC forward, and the renewal of his contract reinforces our commitment to supporting his efforts.”

Dr. Bowne joined JCCC on July 1, 2020, after serving as senior vice president and chief operating officer of the entire Indiana community college system. He is the sixth president in the College’s 51-year history.

Current initiatives he’s overseeing include JCCC’s new strategic planning process, launching new student opportunities as a participating Kansas Promise Scholarship institution, and meeting the post-pandemic instructional and support service needs of an increasingly diverse student population.
