JCCC’s Department of Early College invites you to our events and service opportunities hosted throughout the year. Each gathering will provide you with resources, give you a taste of our stunning campus, and answer your questions about college life. Just find the event that’s right for you!

Thursday Nov. 6 | 5-8 p.m. | CoLab (OCB 100) | FREE registration

Bed of Bags (video) is a Kansas City-based Non-Profit organization who weaves donated grocery bags into sleeping mats to improve the lives of Kansas City's unhoused population. 

Bring some friends, eat some pizza and join us in our CoLab on campus for a few hours as you learn how to make yarn out of plastic bags, AKA "plarn." This plarn is then be used to weave the mats used to help keep unhoused members of our community a little warmer on cold winter nights.
