JCCC students and faculty have won many national awards through the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival. The Theatre Department also awards students for excellence in grades, hard work on production and in classes, and for doing the extra things to set themselves up for success.
The Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF) is a national program that encourages quality work in academic theatre year-round. Every year, our students attend the regional week-long festival somewhere in our region, Region V, where they participate in competitive events, see shows, attend workshops and interact with students at other universities, many of which our students may transfer to after they leave JCCC.
This award is for those students who give it their all while they are in our department and are about to move on to the next step. They show up, dig in and work hard with a great attitude and positive energy. They are role models for success and they don’t ever stop.
This award is for those students who can handle the challenges of producing theatre, balancing their lives and still maintaining an exceptional GPA (above 3.5).
This award is for those technical theatre students who spend countless hours working on our productions in the shops and/or backstage.
