Instructors have provided the following information to generally describe what to expect in their classes.
Math
Class Format
Face-to-face sections: These classes use a mixed lecture, individual practice, and group work format. Participation in class is expected.
Online with On-Site Exam sections: These classes watch instructor-created videos and complete assignments on their own time each week. Deadlines are once per week during the fall and spring semesters and twice per week in the summer semester. The course is not a self-paced course; a schedule must be adhered to. All exams are administered as in-person, paper and pencil exam, on the dates and times listed on the course information.
Resource Use
Online statistical applets are used in Elementary Statistics, Statistics, and Business Statistics. Online homework and assignments are used extensively in all courses, along with the online textbook and resources. It is critical that a student have access to a computer, laptop, or tablet with internet access on a regular basis.
Assessment
Typically, a student’s grade will be composed of scores on homework, class work and participation, quizzes, projects and/or writing assignments, unit exams, and the final exam.
Homework Policy
Online homework is required in all courses.
Attendance Policy
Students should expect that any missed class time will result in an incomplete understanding of the material. Participation in class is expected, and missed participation should be made up. To be fair to all students, no exams may be taken after the schedule exam date due to absence. However, the final exam score may be used as a replacement the lowest unit exam score if it is lower than the final exam score.
Availability
As an adjunct, my hours vary by the courses I am teaching that particular semester. Responses to emails normally occur within 12 hours, but possibly longer on weekends.
