HVAC Tool List

The following supplies are required. These are in addition to tuition and books.

Each student will be required to purchase the following tools to participate in lab activities each day.  As an HVAC student and soon to be an HVAC technician, it is your responsibility to provide your own tools while in class and as you enter the HVAC field.

ANSI Z87.1 safety glasses, goggles, or prescription glasses are required for all lab activities.

JCCC will provide access to recovery machines, extra hoses, nitrogen bottles, oxy-act torches, vacuum pumps, carbon monoxide analyzers, socket sets, and consumables used in the lab.

* Items that should be purchased at an HVAC supply store or online.

  • *Refrigeration gauges w/ hoses (ball valves or low loss fittings)
  • *HVAC refrigeration service wrench and hex adaptor
  • *Multimeter w/ amperage clamp
  • *Digital Stick Thermostat
  • Slip joint pliers
  • Diagonal pliers
  • Linesman pliers
  • Magnetic nut drivers: 1/4 and 5/16
  • *Thermostat screwdriver
  • Tape measure
  • 10” adjustable crescent wrench
  • Tubing cutter
  • Wire strippers
  • *Jumper wires
  • 4 in 1, 6 in1, or 10 in1 screwdriver set
  • Phillips and flat head screwdrivers
  • Sharpies (black or blue)
  • 1/4 and 5/16 magnetic drill adapters
