What Will I Learn in JCCC's Chinese Courses?

At Johnson County Community College, Chinese classes are part of our Foreign Language department.

By studying Chinese at JCCC, you will learn:

  • Basic sounds and characters in Chinese
  • Chinese vocabulary and grammar
  • How to read Chinese
  • Basic conversational skills in Chinese
  • Chinese traditions to gain greater cultural understanding 

You can take Elementary Chinese I (FL 165) and move on to Elementary Chinese II (FL 166).  This sequence meets the Foreign Language requirement for many bachelor’s degrees at four-year schools. Our Chinese courses are guaranteed by the Kansas Board of Regents to transfer to all Kansas public postsecondary institutions.
