- How to Apply for Fire Academy
The Fire Science program has department-specific requirements for admission. For more information, call 913-469-4405.
To be considered for admission to the Fire Academy course, you must complete the following steps:
- Be 18 years old by the start of the course.
- Apply to JCCC.
- Complete the electronic Fire Academy Admission Application. Spring applications are due by September 15 and fall applications are due by March 15. (preferred deadlines; however, deadlines are rolling/applications are accepted year-round, if openings) APPLY EARLY!

Applicants who meet the requirements listed above will be considered. The top 24 applicants per class will be contacted prior to the beginning of the semester and instructed in enrollment and orientation procedures.
Selective admission programs are not eligible for the 60+ reduced tuition rate.
