Updated Federal Requirements
JCCC will continue with JCAE programs to serve qualified individuals. In response to current Federal requirements, starting July 28, 2025, students will be required to present the most recent documentation of their current US citizenship or immigration status as part of the course registration process. Students interested in attending JCAE classes should bring their Real ID, birth certificate, U.S. passport, or immigration documents when they register. Visit the US Citizenship and Immigration Services website for a list of commonly used immigration documents.
ELL class sign-up process
1. Fill out intake form
- By filling out this intake form, you are expressing interest in the JCAE ELL program. This does not guarantee a class and is not the completion of the enrollment process.
- Upon submitting your form, you will be contacted with information on verification/qualification, testing, enrollment and orientation. You must complete all steps to be enrolled in the program.
- Classes will begin in August. Once you have completed the form, watch your email for updates on next steps.
Intake must be completed:
- before August 1 for August enrollment.
- before January 1 for January enrollment.
If you are unable to complete the online intake form, assistance is available at our West Park Adult Education Center during business hours – Monday-Thursday 8 a.m.-5 p.m. and Friday 8 a.m.-noon.
2. Sign up to attend enrollment
- You will receive information via email about the next steps in the application process. Make sure to check spam/trash folders.
- You will sign up to attend our two-day enrollment process.
3. Attend enrollment
- All student enrollment will be will be held at our West Park Adult Education Center: 9780 West 87th Street, Overland Park, Kansas.
- Only the student is allowed in the center for verification, testing, orientation, placement, and payment. Please do not bring family, children, friends, or translators with you.
Day 1: Verification and testing
- Verify qualification to receive services.
- Take the placement test.
Day 2: Orientation, placement, and payment
- Attend orientation, select class, and purchase books. Students will pay a $60 materials fee and pay for the cost of books. The cost of books is estimated to be up to $80.
- All book and materials fees are non-refundable. If you need assistance, scholarship funds may be available.
Remember:
- You may only sign up once.
- You may only sign yourself up. You cannot sign up friends or relatives.
- The intake form may be completed online or in person.
- Information about the onboarding process will be sent to the email used in your intake form. Make sure to check spam/trash folders.
- Do not bring family, children, friends, or translators.
