Purpose: This Policy is adopted in accordance with the Fair and Accurate Credit Transaction Act of 2003 (“FACTA”) to help mitigate and protect against identify theft and applies to all employee-users of Johnson County Community College (“JCCC” or “College”) accounts covered by FACTA.

Identity Theft Prevention: In accordance with FACTA, the President or President’s designee shall be responsible for developing and maintaining an Identity Theft Prevention Program to establish procedures and/or guidelines on detecting, preventing and mitigating identity theft. It is the intent of the College to comply with all applicable provisions of FACTA.

Employees shall abide by and follow all College policies, procedures and programs regarding identity theft prevention and shall take all necessary and required measures to identify and report all information and/or activities as required by FACTA.
