Solicitation and Use of Tables

The components of solicitation that directly impact clubs and organizations are the selling of items on campus and handing out flyers to students, faculty, and staff. Refer to the Soliciting, Canvassing and Promoting on Campus Policy. The only way clubs can legally sell items on campus is for fundraising efforts and through following the fundraising policy referenced in this CSI Manual. Handing flyers to individuals should only be done at reserved tables in the Commons or in classrooms with the consent of the professor leading the class.

Like events, staffing a table in the Commons is a great way for your Student Organization to reach out to more students on campus. Tables can be used to host fundraisers, promote an upcoming event, or recruit members.

Due to a limited amount of tables available, it is strongly encouraged that you turn in the table request form to the CSI at least two weeks in advance. If you are doing a fundraiser at your table, you must turn in a fundraising request form at the same time. If you are requesting a specific table, please note that requests are honored on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Student Organizations are welcome to host organizations and groups unaffiliated with JCCC. A sign indicating which group is sponsoring the organization or group will be placed at the table on the day of the event.

Any time money is collected, two members of your organization must be present and a cash box used. Refer to instructions regarding collecting funds.
